Selling real estate with added focus

We want to sell homes but we also want to have a quality life and that is the rub.

Selling homes is an all-consuming proposition and the depth that we can become consumed is at times impossible to time manage.

Do we focus on first time home buyers or do we focus our attention on the higher end of the market? Do we try to be all things to all people?

The all things to all people philosophy is the part that we find ourselves doing when we have no a good direction of our business. The best thing to do is to do what you like and what you can afford.

Sometimes these things are not the same.

We would all like to focus on higher end homes and only see homes that are in beautiful communities and have fantastic views. But this is not always possible. The higher end of the market is not always easy to break into as the marketing material can be more expensive.

The first time buyers are easier to break into, they also require less marketing dollars and the number of transactions are far higher and therefore more commission checks without waiting for the higher end purchases to make the decision.

  2. Common sense for any economic era. Million dollar home purchases are great, but in most cases they are not the norm. One still has to eat.
